Steel is dead.
Only Sergio Van Extreem remains.
Some stuff from today’s life drawing that I liked.
Had to correct the leg on the second by drawing it again in a darker tone, but I like how it turned out.
I’ll tag these practice things as “SteelScraps” in case you don’t like seeing them.
Now to confirm that I still live art wise.
Been taking life drawing classes, really liked this one.
I don’t think I’ll get any more replies than this about it so here goes.
I don’t really feel people who use Adblock are at fault at all (although I can’t say the same from the devs trying to profit from it).
The Personal Computer has always been an open platform and anyone tech savvy enough has considerable control over how they receive/use the services it provides access to. This is an inherent quality of the platform.
As such, adblocking has hypothetically been possible as long as ads have been.
This in mind, people start up businesses relying on people to NOT do this particular thing that has been possible since literally forever.
I don’t want to insult internet content creators when I say this but people who considerably look into this should see that this business model can’t last, it did for some time, but the landscape has changed and your model should adapt to it as well.
On the bright side, people have become considerably more comfortable with paying for stuff directly online, paywalls aren’t as daunting as they used to be, might be an option for some. And ad revenue could still provide a small income alongside it.
Thanks for the replies.
ryangooddays answered: I understand the need for a pop-up blocker, but I hate the idea that content creators can’t get $$$ because a dude wanted to ad-block.
I know this is supposed to be an art blog, but considering the amount of followers I have on here I found it the only reliable place to ask:
-What do you think about using ad revenue as an income?
-How do you feel about adblock?
-Who do you believe to be in the right? Adblock users or content creators/advertisers that are trying to remove/ban/subdue the software?
Send you answers in whatever way you deem fit, asks, replies, fanmail, it’s all appreciated.
Thanks in advance for feeding my curiosity.
In case I never finish this, I’ll just post this sketch.
I’ll try to finish this tomorrow if I have the chance, but no promises man.
